Propitas were instructed to report on the condition of two buildings within the Gatwick Airport footprint and to compare the costs and feasibility of ongoing repair against major refurbishment or reconstruction. The buildings in question provide a critical function in the day-to-day operation of this major UK transport hub.
Propitas were chosen due to their experience of both detailed Building Surveys and the Project Management of major developments. Following instruction, Propitas formed a technical inspection team along with M&E engineers and inspected the buildings simultaneously.
The feasibility reports have taken into account the operation of the occupational tenants and the phasing of major repair works to ensure that normal operation is maintained as far as practicable.
Propitas reported on the condition of the buildings and provided associated advice on redevelopment options, within the agreed timescales, allowing the Airport to make a reasoned decision on the necessary works.
